What's Included

🔩 GripNut Rivet Locking Nut Kit – 30 petal rivet nuts in M4, M5, and M6, with matching screws for every size. Carbon steel with a zinc plating that holds up outdoors and in humid shops. Drill one hole, drop it in, tighten the screw, and the petals fold out behind the panel to lock down a permanent machine thread. No rivet gun, no welding, and no access to the back side.

🪛 FREE Step Drill Bit – The one tool most people don't already own, and the reason jack nuts fail when they do. A step bit cuts a clean round hole in thin metal instead of grabbing and tearing it like a twist bit does. Sized for all three nuts in the kit, so you're ready to install the moment the box lands.

📋 FREE Jack Nut Sizing Chart – A single-page reference that tells you the exact drill size, length, and material thickness for M4, M5, and M6. No guessing, no measuring twice, no spinning nuts from a hole that came out a millimeter too wide. Print it and tape it inside the toolbox lid.

🔁 FREE Lifetime Replacements – If a nut ever fails, we send a new one. No receipt hunting, no return shipping, no arguing. We can stand behind these because we've tested them, and you shouldn't have to gamble on a fastener holding what you mounted to it.

Product Details

Each kit contains 30 jack nuts split across three sizes, with a matching screw for every nut. You get M4 × 20mm, M5 × 25mm, and M6 × 25mm, so the common thin-panel jobs are covered without ordering a second kit halfway through the project.

The body sits at 16mm on the M4 and 18mm on the M5 and M6, which is the length that folds and clamps behind the panel. Every nut is carbon steel with a zinc-plated finish, rustproof and corrosion-resistant enough for outdoor mounts, trailer walls, and humid garages.

They work in sheet metal, drywall, plywood, and plastic, anywhere the material is too thin to hold a thread on its own. The petal design expands as you tighten, so one size covers a range of panel thicknesses instead of forcing an exact match.

FAQ's

question_mark

How do jack nuts actually work?

You drill one hole, drop the nut in, and tighten the screw.

As the screw pulls, the petal body folds outward and clamps behind the panel. That leaves you with a real machine thread in material that was never thick enough to hold one.

Bolt into it, take the bolt out, bolt into it again. Sheet metal screws can't do that.

The whole install happens from the front, so it works in trailer walls, body panels, and ducting where you can't reach behind.

No welding, no rivet gun, no backing plate. Just a drill and a screwdriver.

question_mark

Do free gifts come with every order?

Yes. Every GripNut kit ships with three free extras:

  • Step Drill Bit – $8.99 value, free
  • Jack Nut Sizing Chart – $4.99 value, free
  • Lifetime Replacements – $14.99 value, free

The bit cuts the hole. The chart tells you which size to use. The guarantee covers you if one ever fails.

question_mark

Do I need to be experienced to install these?

No. If you can use a drill and a screwdriver, you can install these.

There's no special tool to buy and no technique to learn. Drill, insert, tighten. Most people get the first one in under two minutes.

Pros use them for the same reason beginners do: it's the fastest way to put a thread in thin material.

question_mark

What materials can I use them in?

Sheet metal, drywall, plywood, plastic, fiberglass, and thin panel of most kinds. Anything too thin to hold a threaded fastener on its own.

question_mark

How thick can the material be?

Each size has its own grip range. The included sizing chart lists the drill bit and material thickness for M4, M5, and M6 so you don't have to guess.

question_mark

Will they rust?

No. Carbon steel with zinc plating. They hold up in humid shops, engine bays, and outdoor mounts. For saltwater or constant submersion, use stainless.

question_mark

How much weight will they hold?

More than a sheet metal screw in the same panel, because the load spreads across the folded petals instead of a few threads biting into thin material. Pull-out strength depends on your panel thickness.

question_mark

Can I remove them?

The screw backs out and can be reused as many times as you want. The nut body itself is permanent once the petals are set.

question_mark

Which set should I get?

The 30-piece if you have one job in mind. The 90-piece or even more i'd do if you're doing a van build, a trailer, or shop cabinets, where you'll burn through one size fast.

question_mark

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship GripNut worldwide. If your country shows up at checkout, we can get it to your door.

What our customers think..

    Held Where Screws Wouldn't

Mounted a cargo rack to the inside wall of my trailer with no way to get behind the panel. Drilled, dropped them in, tightened down solid. Four months of towing and it hasn't budged.

    No More Stripped Sheet Metal

I've chewed out more sheet metal screws than I want to admit. Used these to remount a fender liner and it's a different world. You get a real machine thread instead of a screw biting into thin steel.

All Three Sizes Was the Whole Point

Bought them for a van build and ended up using them on the shop cabinets too. Never had to stop and order the right size. The sizing chart took the guesswork out of drilling.
